Gordon Ramsey brand importance on Twitter

Twitter is important for a brand in the food and health industry because, it is a prime way to communicate with consumers and other people that share the same passion and knowledge. Another main reason for a brand in the food and health industry to have a twitter is because, it is a way for a company to not only promote their product/service, but to hear what their consumers are saying. Being apart of social media in this day and age is HUGE. According to a study done in 2014 by ADWeek 88% of companies are using social media for marketing purposes. Choosing a study from 2014 may seem far fetched, but the reason why I included it is because, it just shows how big it was to use this method, even when social media didn’t hit its peak of usage.
One brand in the food and health that I am going to be talking about is Gordon Ramsey’s Twitter account. Not only does he promote his multiple T.V. shows, but he is very engaging with his twitter audience as well. Looking at the picture in this blog, we can see that it done more in a humorous manner, but the amount of people that tweet Ramsey pictures of their food is astounding. He responds to a good amount of them, but checking his mentions, he is flooded with these types of tweets. At the end of the day, it is very affective in getting people to talk about him because, as someone who uses social media a lot, I constantly am asked by friends, “Hey did you see Gordon Ramsey’s tweet?!”
I do think that Gordon Ramsey is using twitter efficiently! What he is creating is buzz, and at the end of the day it is humor based. And since twitters age demographic ranging from a wide variety, people are all interested in the light hearted, humor based content he is providing. Regardless of one’s personal opinion, Ramsey has people talking.
